And I remembered creeping down the staircase in the dark of Christmas morning with my brother and sisters... Point Pleasant, NJ 1969... and all of these packages had appeared under the Christmas tree.

MY birthday, 2005.  Took off work a few hours early, went arrowhead hunting at my favorite spot, found 14 nice artifacts, then got taken out to dinner that evening and had some upstairs fun time with the wife:  a birthday trifecta!

shelling peas on the porch steps with my paternal grampa right after we moved to mass from newfoundland. i had just met him, i was 5 at the time, and he told me all kinds of stories about my da when he was younger. and he taught me about salamanders that day. he was really cool.

Never tried that one, although I did get Kristi a set of PJ's that were designed to look like a Star Trek: TNG doctor's uniform. She wore it one night and asked me to pretend she was my favourite Star Trek doctor as we went to bed.

Apparantly saying "Oh Bones you are so manly" completely killed the mood.
