It's Nearly Done!

It started as a joke.  A friend of mine, knowing how much I loved HAMILTON: AN AMERICAN MUSICAL, sent me a few couplets from an imaginary musical about Theodore Roosevelt.  But then it hit me - why shouldn't the most macho, fascinating, kickass President in American history have his own musical?  So I sat down and started writing the opening chorus number.  Now, technically, I didn't actually write SONGS - because I can't write music.  But by golly, I can write RHYMES!  And so I did.  I completed Act One, and now I am two songs away from being done with Act Two.  I have followed TR from being a newlywed kid, just out of college, elected to the Civil Service commission in New York, to his days as a Cowboy, NYC Police Commissioner, war hero, Governor of New York, Vice President, President, and African big-game hunter.  I just finished the song about his unsuccessful bid to return to the White House in 1912.  Now it's winding down, but it sure has been a fun ride!

All I need is a good composer to write the score now . . .

Now who to star in the movie?
Maybe John Goodman as Taft (if Taft is in it).
I was thinking Charles Bronson as Roosevelt, but he's dead.   :bluesad:

Hmmm . . . John Goodman might could do Taft.
Robin Williams was a GREAT TR in NIGHT AT THE MUSUEM, and I always wanted to see him play the role in an actual historical film, but he is dead now. Maybe Gary Oldman?  He seems to be able to be ANYBODY!

I could play TR for you: I mean, we had a South African play Colonel Travis in The Alamo so why not me?

Besides that, I can't stand LAURENCE HARVEY.   :tongueout:

De Niro as Roosevelt. Harvy Keital as Harding. John Carradine as Woodrow Wilson.and Sid Haig.
directed by Quentin Tarintino!  that would be cool!  :drink:
EDIT:
!f**k? John Carradine's dead.  :bluesad:

Actually, I'd need somebody younger, since the story starts with TR as a 19 year old college kid!
Gary Sinise would be a cool Woodrow Wilson.
Heck, I don't know if anything will ever come of this - but I am so proud to be nearly done!
Check out the song lyrics I posted a couple hours ago and tell me what you think.

But can you sing???

I was in choir in primary school until one day my voice broke prematurely and I never sang in public again, although I can sing. I give Rebecca Black a run for her money.

I guess he could always be *shudder* CGI'd?

CGI John Carradine?
David Carradine would rise from the grave and Kung Fu anyone involved.

You know I'd have never imagined robin williams as TR, but I'll bedamned again if he didn't make it work.
The doctor that circumcised Trump threw away the wrong piece.

Really, they had very similar personalities - VERY high energy, vocal, funny, and intelligent.  People forget what an intellectual TR was because he was so macho in his personal habits, but the man wrote 18 books and hundreds of articles on a wide range of subjects.

Dwight Frye as Calvin Coolidge.

He would be perfect.
