I haven't seen Disney's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" in years. Something I've seen recently and occasionally rewatch
is the song "Hellfire" from that movie. It's very mature for a kid's film and would sound more at home in an adult Opera.

The gist of the song is that Judge Frollo, a religious fanatic, is being driven mad by his lust for Esmeralda and is conflicted because it goes against his religion.

It never bothered me as a kid. I didn't know what sex was so I just saw it as unrequited love (Not in such complicated terms though).
I kinda want to see more kid's films tackle these more adult subjects. I feel like if more family movies talked about these things kids would
grow up smarter.

I like it when cartoon work on multiple levels like this. As a kid stuff goes way over your head, then as an adult it shocks you what you were watching / listening to as a kid.
