Following with the comments on mainstream bad movies, today is the turn for the last war flick down here, at least until "We are soldiers" is released.

I went to see the goddam movie for two main reasons: 1) It seemed a good entertainment. 2) I am a Bruce Willis fan.

The main problem with the movie it is that it's not even a movie! Seriously. After a wonderful 5 minute prologue, director Gregory Hoblitt decides that the best way to describe a concentration camp is not to put enphasis on anything happening on screen. Therefore, in every scene of the movie actors enter frame, deliver their speech and leave without Hoblitt actually caring for anything that is going on. And this for the whole movie!

On the other hand, I can understand Hoblitt's lack of interest in the material, since the script is laughable when it tries to be solemn and plain stupid at any other moment. Take a look at some of the "great" ideas the script has: A martial court in a concentration camp where the nazi leader allows prisoners to interrogate him, a prisoner who steals his gun, aims at him only to return it in a second, an escape attemp that would make "Colditz" the pinnacle of realism, etc. etc.

And about Bruce Willis, man, get another job, another haircut (or another hair, directly) and another face expression. Willis fails to show the contradictions of his character (and any contradiction at all, actually) and literally walsks around with the same expression for all the film through. Really. At some moment, he suffers from diaorrea and you can see his face contorting, I don't know if trying to express pain or to change his features. Bruce, I have defended you constantly, but this time you have gone too far.

I was told this movie was based on a true story....... It damn well better be or else i sat through that s**t fest trying to be interested for nothing.  I hate the movie.  It sucked anus

What little I saw of the previews seemed to indicate to me that it was a reworking of "The Great Escape" as a more individual focused  action movie

Maybe,  but "The Great Escape" was good..........

I was under the assumption that it was an updated, "gritty" reworking of HOGAN'S HEROES.
