Sven, since you're probably the most leftist person here (if it's okay to classify you that way, no offense intended if it's not how you see yourself), if you have a few minutes and feel like sharing your thoughts, I'd be curious what you think about this. I'm not going to attack what you say, just curious.

Dinesh Dsouza,  aka L'il Dinny,  is a convicted felon who makes a living pandering to the radical alt right with conspiracy theories that are utterly ludicrous on their face.  He pushes absolutely discredit conspiracy theories, has plead guilty to political fraud and was pardoned but he most corrupt president in American history.  His attacks on this leftist student we're simply the same lies and rheotorhic frommthe right we usually get and the video was edited by a right wing YouTube site to make him look good and the leftist look bad.

Watching as much of lL'il Dinny's screed as I could tolerate before nausea overcame me I noticed that the leftist student "ABSOLUTELY  destroyed! "made cogent and factual points about how white ww2 vets got the GI bill's benefits including aid in going to college and getting business loans and blacks did not,  these the next generation of whites had benefits the next generation of blacks did not. This set up a system where blacks were  disadvantaged due to racist policies inflicted on their parents generation.  The "leftist" student stared facts that L'il Dinny simply ignored and went into a basic "might makes right" tirade that avoided dealing with the facts the leftist student stated and seemed to have a "Yeah,  so? "attitude towards the fact blacks in america in earlier fnerations were  targrted by discriminatory laws and customs that handicapped them and their successor generations.

So the leftist student maDe cogent and factual statements supporting policing s aimed at directing the disadvantages blacks have been subjected to in American history and in the lifetimes of many people alive today,  L'il Dinny  basically admitted whites did this and claimed it didn't need to be redressed today by dint of "might makes right".

While the leftist student make truthful statements about blacks being handicapped by earlier generations of systematic discrimination and said that to live up to it's stated platitudes of "liberty and justice for all" L'il Dinny basically admitted to the earlier discrimination as being OK because whites were  dominant  and advocated essentially a "sucks to be you" attitude towards reconciling  past abuses with Americans proclaimed views of liberty and opportunity plays "all men are created equal".

All in all I'd say the leftist student talked like a responsible informed adult admitting to last wrongs in his country and wanted to try to do what could be done to address and correct them. L'il Dinny acted like a pompous arrogant ass who's attitude was "I got mine and xxxx everyone else. "


Poor L'il Dinny,  he never got over the way people cheered when Indiana Jones tossed his dad into a river full of crocodiles...

BTW I am white and admit "white privelidge"is a thing.  I've benefitted from it and know it is real.

Oh,  and ER,  you indicate you are female.  How do you feel about policies aimed at redressing  discrimination women once suffered in america?

I decided to act like a real leftist and make a valid analysis of a opposing view and a rational,  logical response. This contrasted with now the right responds to opposing views.

It's okay; politics is sh!t on both sides.  In NJ, I'll be voting for the Democrat BOB MENENDEZ but I'm not proud of him.  It's a depressing subject, particularly today.

I guess, Sven, what you and many others call white privilege I see more as the fruits of white exceptionalism (Europeans crossing oceans to settle other continents, inventing the industrial revolution, the printing press, parliamentary democracy, making advances in maritime engineering, inventing heavier than air flight, enshrining the right of a free press, universal education, innoculations, even the idea of modern socialism itself, etc.) and exceptional groups do tend to enjoy a higher standard of living, which generally does get passed on to their children. I can't think of any group that's taken greater steps to share the advances it has engineered and atone for real and hypothetical wrongs it has made but I will leave that to others to decide individually.

I think the video showed two tragic trends in leftism: the seduction of guilt, and the notion that the criticisms that arise from guilt are best applied to others rather than oneself.

I promised not to attack your views (as you attacked the speaker in the video rather than his ideas), so thank you for taking the time to present your thoughts.

I did base my "Attacks" on L'il Dinny  on what he actually said. He completely ignored the true and valid points the so called leftist raised and simply made a "Yeah, so?" response to the facts that groups in america have been subject to discrimination in the past and the effects of it are still prevalent today.

Also as to my hostility towards him, please remember that L'il Dinny make a career out of inciting hate and fear towards the left and encouraging hostility towards peopkle like me. My holostility towards him has a basis int he fact he encourages his followers to regard me an an enemy to be destroyed. Much like Dr.Joseph Goebbles encouraged the people of Germany to hate, fear and eventually destroy all those who didn't share his party's views.

D-Souza is a partisan political propagandist, that is true.
However, I think painting him (and conservatives) in the same light as Goebbels is just pouring gasoline on the fire of partisan hatred that threatens to consume our country - not to mention using the same kind of rhetoric you accuse him of.
