A Gang Robs

I saw a movie on tv as a kid (back in the 70s) which was about a bunch of criminals who rob an entire town.  I think the idea (I didn't see it all) was that they were going to steal everything of value in the entire town/city and the scene remember best is one of the gang for a new bride to give up her wedding ring.  Anyone have any idea of what the movie was?

Thanks for the suggestion.  I watched the movie(The Day of the Wolves) and it was pretty poor and, alas, wasn't the movie I remember.  But thanks again for the suggestion.
