I can mostly agree with this list,  but personally don't see dean Wormer as a villain.  He doesn't deserve to be called a villain,  he was just an a$$hole.

So,  what do you think of as great movie villains?

I hate the JJA reboots but I think Cumberbach's Khan in "into darkness" was a better villain that Montalbahn's was.  The into darkness khan was trying to save his people and was willing to do anything to save them.  Was he a villian?  Well,  yes,  he murdered a lot of innocent people.  But then again he was what humanity created him to be,  and was condemned by humanity,  enslaved by Marcus, his people threatened repeatedly, betrayed my Marcus,  then betrayed by kirk after he kept his agreement to kirk andsafed his life.  Yeah,  no wonder he was a kinda pi$$ed off after a while.

All in all Marcus was the greater villian in Into darkness.

Commodus in GLADIATOR is a marvelous villain: evil, and yet pitiful at the same time.

Vader in Star Wars: A New Hope. When he first appears he just oozes menace just by walking down a corridor.

Some of my clients over the last 28 years think I'm the movie villain.
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

Hans Gruber should be higher on the list. For that matter, Alan Rickman should have more appearances in the list.

And where's Maleficent?
