I watched this near the end of  Christmas 2018, and still think it is the best version of ACC.

One scene had me a little wet eyed as it usually does.

The doctor that circumcised Trump threw away the wrong piece.

I have also seen it, and I also liked it. Though, as many film versions of the story, I have seen. Two of my favorites are not any of the live action versions, but two of the animated versions.

Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol
There is hardly (IMHO) a bad song in the entire production.

And Mickey's Christmas Carol
With many of the Disney characters, up to that time, in it. Over 3 dozen of them.

The only bad version of ACC was scrooged.  Leave it to the SNL crew to take one of the best stories in the English language and make a version so bad it's  unwatchable.

I just couldn't watch scrooged all the way thru.

I have 6 versions of A CHRISTMAS CAROL on DVD and George C. Scott's is my 3rd favorite (although, not far behind #1 and #2). George rarely disappoints me and this is no exception:

1. A CHRISTMAS CAROL (1951) - Alastair Sim
2. SCROOGE (1970) - Albert Finney
3. A CHRISTMAS CAROL (1984) - George C. Scott
4. A CHRISTMAS CAROL (1938) - Reginald Owen
5. RICH LITTLE'S CHRISTMAS CAROL (1978) - Rich Little
6. SCROOGE (1935) - Seymour Hicks

I like your list, Burgomaster, but I don't care for that majorly Hollywood 1938 production; it has moments, but it's stoopid.

Patrick Stewart starred in a version that was pretty bad in my opinion. He has a tendency to project as if he's on stage if the director doesn't keep an eye on him, and it was on display in his version of "A Christmas Carol" (although not as badly as in his version of Moby Dick). It also had a very Hallmark-y aspect to it. It was just a poor version, made worse by the inclusion of Patrick Stewart setting expectations higher.

And that Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come... is he wearing a CRT on his head?  WTF?  Battery operated light up eyes?
I saw it again in the last couple of weeks.  I watched it because it's TERRIBLE
