So has anyone actually seen this one. I am not a big Will Ferall fan although he does have the occasional thing I've found funny. So far it is rating 0% fresh on Rotten Tomato's (not that I go by that site), and the few reviews that have been posted have been pretty scathing about the amount of wasted talent on screen.

Anyway, has anyone seen it and is at as bad as they say?

It's up to 5% on Rotten Tomatoes. Whether or not you rely on those ratings, 5% is VERY bad and will certainly make me stay away from this one.

I detest Will Ferrell for what he did to LAND OF THE LOST; this looks far, far worse.
I refuse to partake.

ER

Just watch the 1980s John Hawkesworth/Jeremy Brett series, as it was the alpha and omega of quality Holmes adaptations, staying remarkably faithful to the source material and examining the characters respectfully and faithfully in the most authentically Victorian looking setting anyone could ask for.

Bought my mum every episode of that show a few years back.

I saw it yesterday at the movies for my birthday. My girlfriend and I were the only people in the theater. She gave up about 30 minutes into it and then spent the rest of the time either napping or going on Instagram. I stuck with it until the bitter end knowing full well it would never improve.

No, and I knew that I would not see it, when I saw the trailer for it. There is just something about comedy and Sherlock Holmes, that does not work--for the most part--for me.

The film does seem to be another nail in the coffin for star vehicles.

Which is what I think is one of the things wrong with Hollywood. An overabundance of stars. An underbalance of character actors. There use to be a time, when you could pull a book off a shelf and see page after page of actors, who were not stars per se, but were well known for playing the same character part, film after film. That is no longer the case. And (IMHO) Hollywood is less for it.
