A movie that really needs to be made, and likely never will.

Over the last few years China has launched an all out offensive against religion in it. First they began with a brutal assault on Islam.

Now they're targeting Christianity.

Peolel who think they know me will assume I cheered these actions, proving they don't know me at all.

I'm generally opposed to persecution and oppressission. There are some groups that are actively dangerous and should be opposed and resisted, like Nazis,  but by and large i'm opposed to persecution. I don't like smoking and think  tobacco execs are evil scum, but I don't like seeing smokers harassed and persecuted.

I am vehemently opposed to the persecution of Muslims and Christians in China. I don't believe in persecuting religions. I have been accused of it because I resist the efforts of some religions to persecute others,  which some religious people see as persecution,  but I don't.

So I'm pretty POed that the American media is mostly ignoring this. What happened to our sense of justified outrage? We railedagainst south Africa, economically carpet bombing them into submission on the apartheid issue.

We've championed other causes involving persecuted minorities in the world before. My grandfather's generation howled at the persecution of jews in Germany and later we were  furious at the soviet unions invasion of Afghanistan. We went to war alledgely over Saddam  hussein's brutal assault on kuwaite.

Where's America's outrage over the Chinese war on religion and persecution of Christians and Muslims? (Mine is alive and quite well thank you very much.)

Why isn't an american film maker making a movie about the oppression of religion in China,  the "reeducation camps", the forced feeding of pork to Muslims, the drestrouctiin of christian churches,  etc,  going on in China?

Now obviously no one can go to China to do this movie because theycd likely be imprisoned,  tortured and possoibky murdered. But what about interviews with escapes and reconstruction  based on their testimony?

Why isn't a film maker doing  a movie about this? Where's Michael Moore?  Where's some hot blooded idealistic young aspiring journalist and director when we need one? Where's fox news,  ferxxxx'ssake, who is so quick to launch assaults on americans for "persecuting religion"?

The bottom line is religions,  including Christianity, are being elrsecuted in China in heinous, inhuman and brutal ways and no one in america seems to give a damn but me.

Deep down I think we know why film makers and media aren't touching this by and large.

Our old buddy,  capitalism.

China has become a huge market for the media and as  such the media overlords have become very much intimidated by the threat of China not allowing them into their huge market. China doesn't like looking bad so the  remake of red dawn changes the Chinese invaders into north Koreans. China doesn't like Tibet being mentioned so the makers of  Dr. Strange turn the ancient one from a Tibetan man to an English woman.

The american media used to attack tyranny and oppression ,  until a country practicing  it became a profitable market. Then capitalism triumphed over justice, decency,  outrage, etc.

We need someone with the guts to make a documentary on the persecution of religion in China, I just don't know if one will come or not. Obviously no major studio would distribute it if it we're made. Youtube would probably censor it at the command of Beijing, sites hosting it would be hacked, etc

I just don't know if anything can be done to get americans up in arms over this to pressure china over it. If not, then we might as well forfeit our title as "leader of the  free world".

We used to use the term "godless communism" as an insult. It would be ironic if in the end america became a land of godless capitalism that gives a passive green light to the persecution and oppression of religion because a big media market is more important than defending religious freedom.

What a joke tha twould be, and I just cannot bring myself to laugh at  it...

OK,  flame away at me.
