Cyber ghosts....

Three people I know have died recently and a couple of them were  Facebook friends of mine.

I can't just drop them  from my friend list, you either understand that or you don't .

Now i'm  getting notices of one of their upcoming birthdays.

I guess i'll  get notices of the other one's birthday  sooner or later.

It's almost like "cyber ghosts" of old friends who are gone. It's sad,  and depressing, in some ways,  but it helps me remember them.

I'll never delete their accounts from my friends list,  so I guess i'll be haunted by cyber ghosts until I become one.

I find it unconditionally depressing when Facebook reminds me to send birthday wishes to a dead friend.

There are always some distant acquaintances who didn't hear the news who wish the departed a happy day.

you're  right,  rev. But then it reminds me of the good parts on king them too...

As of this posting, it says there are 6601 members of badmovies.org forum. 

I know people stop for certain reasons (time, loss of interests etc), some are spammers, maybe a few bots....

But sometimes I wonder whose stopped posting because they've past on.  There's probably a few.

Not uncommon at all. At a german message board I hang out three well known members stopped posting (not at the same time). We found out later they passed away. Shockingly, none of them were older than 50.

Ironic update here. I just got a notice that FB was doing a 6 years of friendship thing for me and larry.

It reminded me of good times, yeah, but mostly...
