"While we have faced digital competition from Netflix and others for years, nothing has been as devastating to our business as COVID-19," They closed 200 stores this fall, & are closing the rest this when thet run through their inventory. Family Video is the last rental chain in the U.S. They will still sell products through their website.

They actually owned their own buildings & rented space to other related businesses, like take out eateries. That's how they lasted so long; they weren't a video company; they were a property management company with a knack for getting related businesses together.

Of course, if no one has to pay rent for months on end that business won't work. :/

They still had stores? :O

Yeah, there's one 15 minutes from me, until last year there were two.  They both had pizza chains and CBD oil shops next to them and sort of partnered with them somehow, they often had deals where you'd get a pizza and a rental together.
