So, looks like I've lost BOTH my jobs...

Yeah, so, a few weeks ago, I'd just started a new job at a convenience store.  I was there for about a week when, on the way to work one day I got into a car accident.  I was fine, but my car was damaged badly enough it had to be towed and I had to wait for a cab.  Needless to say, when it was all said and done, I was about an hour late for work.  If you're wondering, I DID call them shortly after the accident to let them know what had happened.

So, I call in the next day to get the schedule only to find out, surprise, surprise I'm not on it.  I call the manager and leave a message asking him to call me back.  Days pass and no reply.   I even went to the store and left my number with one of my co-workers just in case he'd somehow missed my message.   I'm not even sure why I was fired, and it p**ses me the hell off that he didn't even have the decency to tell me I was no longer employed.  To me, that shows a real lack of managerial skills.

Now, cut to my current job, the one I've been at for over three years.  I wasn't on the schedule last week so I called in about it.  I spoke to the manager and she said call me in "...a few days" to have a meeting about what was going on.  If I'm being disciplined for something, I have honestly no idea what.

But, anyway, that was a week ago.  I've gotten no phone call, and no emails telling me about THIS weeks schedule, so I assume I'm not on week's schedule either.  I called half hour ago and was told she was "busy", but I left a message with a co-worker, so who knows.

Once again, I've being kept in the dark.

I guess I should have seen the writing on the wall.  I mean, everyone's hours had been cut back but it seems like mine in particular were hit pretty hard.  Went from working four days a week to just two,  then dropped down to just six hours a week.  But she assured me, "Oh, no, we're not trying to get rid of you..."  I think of all the times I came in when called or stayed over past my scheduled shift to help out, and this is how I'm repaid.

Sorry to hear this. I hope you find something better soon where you are more appreciated.

When I worked at Toys R Us, we had an older bike assembler that just wasn't cutting it anymore.  The bikes he'd put together always needed adjusting or would fall apart.  Rather than fire him, the boss simply didn't put him on the schedule and kept Not-putting-him-on-the-schedule until the assembler stopped checking.

Sounds like a similar situation here.
