I got pulled over by the cops last Saturday

Now, Dad was a police officer so I know the drill, be nice, don't sass the person, have your license etc ready, so no problem.

I asked the police officer why he pulled me over and he said that my license plate was dirty. 

No ticket however.

No, actually I was on my way to have my car cleaned (once a month wash and wax etc) and then I got pulled over. I heard Dad laughing somewhere when that happened.

Back in 2012 I got pulled over because I had a frame around my car's rear license plate that was obscuring the registration sticker and the county name on the plate.  Frames aren't legal in Iowa if they obscure any part of the lettering or stickers on the plate.  Most cops don't even bother enforcing that and I went years without an issue.  I still think it was more the cop wanted to have a closer look at my car at the time because he hadn't seen one like it before than wanting to enforce the law.

It happened again today: weirdly on a Saturday too (like the last one in 2020) and oddly on the same road!! 

I'm sure the policeman just wanted to see my car up close as he was friendly and even complimented my car.
