Just got back from seeing it, and I had a good time with it.  It would make a good double bill with Mike Doughtey's Krampus
At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

We're going to try to see it this week.  I wanted to go Friday night, but my wife really wanted to see WAKANDA FOREVER.

It looks like a hoot, unfortunately no theaters near me seem to be showing it!  :hatred:

My wife and I went to see it for our anniversary date, and both of us wound up laughing hysterically.
It's DIE HARD meets HOME ALONE with Santa Claus taking on the role of Bruce Willis.  5/5 across the board - this one may become a Christmas tradition!

I quite enjoyed this one.  I feel like it could have done with another draft in its writing to be genuinely great..  Like it has some pathos and character moments that work, but with some tweaking more could have been done, shorten it a touch, a couple more character arcs.  In particular the stuff with the little girl and her family are weak.

But, Harbour is fun, and does a great job, and gets a lot of neat stuff to do.  It's often quite funny and inventive.  He carries the film.  There's a lot of good gags too.  Totally worth watching.

If you like the tone and black comedy of this one, I'd suggest checking out the director's other films.  The Trip is pretty good and is a Netflix original, and the Dead Snow films (especially 2) are worth a watch.

So, someone took the idea of Die Hard and made it into an actual Christmas movie?

Didn't realise the Dead Snow connection. Loved them.
