QUEEN OF BLOOD (1966) was on TCM last night and I watched it.  Starring JOHN SAXON, BASIL RATHBONE, and DENNIS HOPPER (!).  Creepy, absurd plot, tedious re-used Russian film space effects footage...and the dumbest lines I've heard this year anyway!

This was the first AIP movie I ever saw and television in Rhodesia was black and white broadcast only, so it made the movie a lot more creepier than it was. 😊

I thought last night that if I'd seen that as a kid (like some other creepy 60s flix it reminds me of) it definitely would have spooked me.  And our TVs were Black and White until 1970...
The color is even ickier, and that theremin music is perfectly eerie.  The movie is gross, garish, and the eggs jiggle.  Blech, it's weirdly effective!

Agreed: I saw Horror Express on TV there as well, the b/w broadcast made it eerier.

I remember watching TV broadcasts of HORROR EXPRESS numerous times... but always in garish color... I own it on VHS and DVD.  Haven't looked at it in years.  I love it.
