Tried watching Bladerunner. Started off well, but quickly became slow & disjointed. I can see why The Ladd Company tried to add narration.

The BLADE RUNNER DVD box set I have has five different versions of the same film. 😳🐢

if you mean rhe original, I don't think I've ever made it through... the overall vibe is too cloyingly low key for me, not enjoyable. imo

Quote from: M.10rda on July 05, 2025, 12:52:50 PMMy parents took me to see it in the theater for (iirc) my 10th birthday. Even at 10, I was mildly underwhelmed by it, though I loved STAR WARS and ALIEN.

there was 1 kid in our primary school who'd seen ALIEN, and when he told me about the stomach bursting scene I was obsessed. I used to repeatedly ask him to describe that scene to me in detail  :bouncegiggle:

eventually saw ALIEN in my 20s!

Oh how lovely. I wish I'd known students like you in my elementary (primary) school! I don't think I met a single person outside my household who was ever remotely interested in anything I'd read or watched until I was at least 15 year old.

the trials of being a 'weird' kid! (I include myself in that lol... luckily I had an equally weird kid who lived next door from the age of 7, so we kind of weird-bonded)

 I loved STAR WARS

I despise STAR WARS and anything STAR WARS related.
Big budget Flash Gordon crap.
I'm kind of, I dunno..ambivalent towards them. I refused to watch any for a long time. I watched the original trilogy...and was underwhelmed. Like, I can see how people might like them, but it's not for me. Don't hate it, won't watch again.

I didn't like the original when it first came out except for Han Solo.  Luke Skywalker was too whiny and I just didn't connect with the story or look of the film.  Empire was a little better but I couldn't care less about the rest of them.  Give me Starcrash or The Humanoid any day.  I liked the original Battlestar Galactica way more than Star Wars.

I got the same...I greatly prefer the final cut

it was really interesting seeing all the changes made in each person and how it changed the film
Kubrick, Nolan, Tarantino, Wan, Iñárritu, Scorsese, Chaplin, Abrams, Wes Anderson, Gilliam, Kurosawa, Villeneuve - the elite
