(i warn you of my spelling, its bad)
Ok, i remember a little while ago i said something about this master piece on this site.

I hope to let you know BEN kicks the arse of every movie on this site,
The Ultimate Movie of DOOM is a understatement to its beweildering greatness.

If the webmaster happens to be reading this, ADD IT TO YOU SLIME THINGO LIST NOW!

Ok so its not that good...

But the fact that it says that its a sequel, and it isnt. (as far as i know anyway) is realy cool. "Ben is Back, and this time his got friends"
Bens got it all, ridiculus death scenes, a cute little kid that sings and dose puppet shows, funny little rats, ridiculusly terrorfied people, crappy happy music, flame throwers, shotguns, drama and music from micheal jackson.

Its about a boy that made a friend with a rat, the problem is that this rat is a mastermind, that commands a army of rats in the sewers. (they go on regular eating and scaring trips and kill the ocasional person by jumping on thier neck)
Anyway this kid sings realy corny songs, much like the wizard of Oz, and sings micheal jackson's "ben" and puts on puppet shows for his rat friend.
The towns been hearing about the rat infestation, and a acciedent where a Truck driver terrorfied of ben crashs.(one of the peaks of the film, he is in shock because a rat jumped on his shoulder) The boy is unaware that ben his rat friend is at fault of the latest rat incerdents. Police eventuly leed to the boy, and they know he knows something, but cant nail anything on him. The kid soon comes to his senses and realises that his "Ben" is the colperate in the hideous crimes though out the city. "Your a bad rat arnt you Ben?" (One of my favorate quotes)
People soon find out that the boys been houseing ben and they plan to finally get rid of the rat menace, not though rat traps, rat poision or any normal way you rid of rats but by flame throughers and shotguns. (yeah!)
So a realy funny scene of rats escapeing flames and men being killed by the rats with thier ultimate neck jumping manover, (The rats are simply throwen at the victim) is followed by ben geting flamed hosed and shot by at least ten guys.

Ben survives some how, a little on the burnt side. And the little boy sees the rat and he takes refuge with the boy.
                                                           THE END

Whats so funny is the movies done completely seriously, completely seriously to the funny first scene where the insane guy bashs the poor rat with a broom till the ridiculis survival of a rat at the end. its pure magic.
Thiers even a scene where you see Ben escaping cop cars.
I was laughing the whole way though.
Its a gem, a great movie.

Watch it as soon as you can.

And if your a animal lover, it looks like a hell of alot of rats were hurt and killed in the making of this film.

i found it in my local video ezy video store, released by virgin video.

Ben chewed up his former master, Willard, in the movie of that name. God help us, it's being remade.

Flangepart

Oh, lordy,lordy,lordy......a remake of BEN. You know, they say eating too much cheese can realy bind you up. Imagin the cinimatic bolus THIS thing could create! Terminal Constipation of the brain!

Squishy

"Willard" is being remade, not "Ben." Sorry for the confusion.
The new "Willard" will star Crispin Glover.

I remember seeing the original as a young'un, on a double bill with
Krakatoa, East of Java. Always thought that was a weird double bill, but seeing them both at the drive in was wonderful.  There you get really big screens.  I wasn't as scared of the rats as I was of other movies, I guess it was because my sisters and I were in our pjs, with the parents up front.  Very cozy.  No remake could ever capture that feeling.

Chadzilla

I own videos of both Willard AND Ben.  I also read The Ratman's Notebooks (the book that Willard was kinda/sorta based on).

I'm watching them again real soon, just got the itch for some cheese.

"Oh Willllll-ARD!"

Squishy

Y'know, I've never actually seen "Willard" OR "Ben," but I still have a copy of "The Ratman's Notebooks" (with the title altered to match the movie). It's freaking great fun to read. I hope the new version can keep faithful to it...

Cullen

How closely does Ratman's Notebooks match Willard?  I've been a bit curious about it since I first heard of it.  Is it any good?  I fear no spoilers, at least in this case.

Chadzilla

The narrator puts his rats to slightly more torturous use and he's not as wimpy/sweet as Willard was, but the movie used a great deal of the novel's events, including the ending!

Cullen

Thanks!  Been curious about it for years, now.
