just tried to watch this, had to fast forward thru most of it.

Basic concept is an underwater exploration crew comes across a 60-foot long Megalodon shark. Nice concept (which is being reused for a couple of other movies soon), but horribly executed.

Watching this thing, I had flashbacks to LEVIATHAN and DEEP STAR SIX. Hell, it even lifted the "monster coming through the drop-hole to grap a crew member" bit.

The two basic flaws to this movie are that A) it is way too stationairy, with people just hanging around a dark and dank "ship"...something we've seen too many times before, and B) the damned shark just basically sits there most of the time. It just kind of floats outside the ship way too much.

I love virtually any "giant animal goes on a rampage" flick, but this was one pretty trying....

I strongly believe you,Mmv,since anything that stars Antonio Sabata Jr. is to be extremely avoided as if it were a "Freddy Got Fingered" sequel.
Anyway,I heard that the upcoming "Megalodon" will get released to Lions Gates video as "Shark Attack 3" later this year...

Rented it myself. Took me a week to finish it. Too bad because the shark effects were actually pretty decent. Personally, my favorite moment was when the shark was slowly drifting towards the ship while Antonio and another guy are bracing as if its flying at them. Finally it lightly bumps the ship and slowly swims away. Absolutely horrendous.

Antonio Sabato Jr - the man you call when Dean Cain isn't available!

Actually, I didn't think it was that bad.  Maybe that's because I was comparing it to Beneath Loch Ness and Octopus II, although I didn't really hate either of those either.  (Maybe I'm getting soft in my old age.)  It was certainly better, in my opinion, than Boa, which was a *lot* more stupid.

Anyway, if anyone cares, my full thoughts on the matter will be available in this month's issue of Video Cheese over at Jabootu.  It should be up late tonight, or tomorrow night at the latest.
