Knowing my tastes, it was probably impossible for me to dislike this crude, silly movie about highway cops.  Take my opinions with a grain of salt.

But I really enjoyed this stupid little film.  It made me laugh, and really that's all I look for in comedies.

If you really want to know, this is ANIMAL HOUSE set in the world of highway patrolmen.  It's silly and stupid, and if you didn't like the trailers, well then, you won't like this movie.  I found it a very entertaining comedy.  The fact that it doesn't follow the completely over-the-top comedy formula that most movies subscribe to was a big plus in my book.  Really, it reminded me of OFFICE SPACE more than any other movie.  (A film which I hold in very high regard.)

The only big thing holding this movie back is that the main characters are complete screw-ups.  I knew it was the point of the movie, but they were so bad that I could not imagine any of these people succeeding in any way whatsoever.  It left a lot of the scenes with a weird tension that didn't really help the humor.

But still, it's funny as hell.  At least I thought so.  A big plus were the two commentary tracks by the members of Broken Lizard, the comedy troupe that made this movie.  They are so completely amazed by the professionals who showed up to actually work on their silly little movie.  Listening to them praise the set designers, Brian Cox and Lynda Carter was a refreshing change from the dry, listless commentarys that plague so many major releases.  Plus they never skip an opportunity to bag on each other.  It's like a Kevin Smith movie without Ben Affleck.

I could have done with a little less gratuitous male nudity, but otherwise I would recommend this movie to anyone with the correct temperment.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

I was thinking of checking this one out the other night, I heard surprisingly good things about it.

Speaking of comedy troupes with movies, I'm really hoping the "Upright Citizens Brigade" comedy troupe's new film, "Martin & Orloff" gets released this year. If it's anything like their insanely hilarious tv show that was on Comedy Central afew years back it's bound to be good.

They have a bunch of stuff on it at www.martinandorloff.com .. sounds really funny.
