South Dakota PBS showed Monty Python episodes uncut and those had nudity in them

Mofo Rising

Well, SCHINDLER'S LIST is on PBS again as I write this.  I forgot to bring up the point Chunkstyle (great name) brought up, which is that PBS pretty much has free reign to put what they want on TV.  I have seen nudity and adult language on it, although not often.

Was there really a half-hour block of Ford commercials before the network showing?  I guess they wanted to get over Henry Ford, Sr.'s embarassing (to say the least) proclivities.

Faerie Of Death

I agree that violence on tv is definitely not the sole cause of children acting violently, but it can be a trigger for a preson who was unstable in the first place.  Of course, there are plenty of other things that can set off an unstable person, but the media is a faceless entity, it's very easy for everyone to blame.  Nobody, especially not a parent, wants to be held responsible when a child goes out and shoots somebody.  To make a very educated reference, the Blame Canada song from tthe South Park movie ends with the parents singing the line "we must blame them because of us before somebody gets to blaming us!!!"  There is no one cause of any kind of violence, it's all a happy little blend of just about everything we're exposed to day after day.

nudity was probably 'classy' back then! LOL
