We (the wife and myself) watched the "Asylum of Satan" DVD the other night,
with the commentary track on.  Despite Patty's worries (the recording was
done in one take and rushed), it turned out to be very informative and
entertaining.

Patty was merciless to Nick Jolley, he of the unattractive demeanor and
hideous clothing.  She also included a huge amount of Girdler background on
the commentary.  All the while, Patty was fending off strange (out of the
blue) sexual comments by Mr. Hogue, her commentary track partner.  In fact,
Patty rarely draws a breath during the entire movie.  Katie and I were
yelling, "Breathe, Patty!  Breathe!" at one point.  The webmistress of
William Girdler was packing everything she could into the commentary.

One of the better commentary tracks that I have heard, anyone with an
interest in Girdler's early work (wonderful cheese at times) should
definitely check it out.

Strange sexual comments, huh? I know he was going into some hideous schtick about Carla playing Dr. Specter's organ that I desperately tried to talk out of, then later tried to smooth over.  But what else is there?

** Edit ** Oh right. The "cat" joke. Yeah, that was a joke he wanted to tell, then thought better of in mid-sentence and tried to signal for me to tell, which screwed me up and threw me off.

But gee, if anything, I thought *I* was the hormonally charged one on the commentary, what with my Nick Jolley quasi-lusting..
