Not really a movie, but still bad

Yesterday, as I was staring blankly at the tv screen in an attempt to become fully awake, Power Rangers: Time Force came on.  I was about to turn it off when I noticed that one of the many archvillians was watching a tv show that really brought back memories.  Unfortunately, the name of the show was not among them.  Does anybody remember a show that aired afternoons on Fox a few years back?  It involved a kid (possibly named Dex???) who came from another planet and was adopted by a good, wholesome all-american family with a John Goodman look-alike father, an Asian mother, a high school-ish blonde daughter, and an elementary school aged black son.  By day he was just an ordinary teenager, but when evil struck, he put on his bug costume and rode off on his motorcycle to fight crime.  Does anybody know the name?

Sounds like Masked Rider (edited from a Japanese TV show).  While it bombed here it has been enjoying at least 25 years of success in Japan as Kamen Rider.  I'm a wealth of useless information.
