I was just watching HBO Comedy and they had a tribute of some sort to old horror/sci fi movies. it starred dan akyrod (sp?) john candy, cheech and chong, and some comedy chick i didnt reconize as the hosts. it was pretty funny, with mst3k like comedy, pointing out the faults and quirks of each film. anyone else see this?

When I die, I want to die like my grandmother who died peacefully in her sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in her car.

Ooooh, I've got that one on VHS!   The title is "It Came From Hollywood" and it was made in the early 80's.  I first saw it back when I was a reeeaaal short guy and it's what started me on awful cinema.  Gilda Radner is the name of the comedy chick you didn't recognize.  The bit with her watching monster movies is great.

Yes, it is "It Came from Hollywood." Saw it back in 1982, when it was a theatrical release. An average movie, which is probably why I don't remember much about it. Based upon the book of the same title by the Medveds. Who, from what I hear, didn't think much of it. Putting it in their book "Hollywood Hall of Shame," which came out two years later. (I think.) Of course, like any compitlation film, the fun is in watching the film clips. Some of them being from films reviewed at this site. Enjoy!
