Just saw Al Adamson's Horror of the Blood Monsters (aka Vampire men of the Lost Planet) this week. Unbelievable. The way the vampire movie, the sci-fi movie, the caveman movie and everything else is cut together into one film is just staggering. And the special effects, from the cheesy six-inch spaceship model to the extensive use of plywood in the control room (including the seats) to the use of an aluminum ladder as a gangplank is a hoot. Great bad movie.

If you haven't seen it, check out Andrew's review. He describes it pretty well.

I happen to like this one....well, I'm partial to Al Adamson's horror movies anyway....but this one is probably the best of his "patchwork" movies, the scenes from the Philipino movie TAGANI are blended very well with the new footage shot by Al. Yeah, that spaceship is an incredible lil' thing, and the cardboard sets are obvious.....but isn't that what cheesy, Saturday afternoon matinee fun flicks are all about?
