Mission Hill

Did anyone see Mission Hill tonight (12/30/02)? It was one of the best cartoon shows I have ever seen. I liked the show ever since it first came on, but this episode was the best. It was all about the wonderful world of cinema, and at the end, the wonderful world of BAD cinema. Back in the 50's, gay lovers Gus and Wally worked in a movie studio, and when they finally met, Gus the director decided to make Wally the fat bald guy the star of his movie. The studios turned him down, and made him work out of cheaper studios, eventually producing THE MAN FROM PLUTO, a movie that makes Plan 9 From Outer Space it's master. It was supposed to be bad, but the moral of the story was that every great movie tells a life story, and this movie, no matter how bad on the technical side it was, it made people HAPPY, and that's special. It may not have been this century's Requiem Mass, but because it was made with feeling, it had that extra something to it that made it so loved, even if the space ships were hats on strongs. I think we all can take something from that, and help others understand why we love what we love a bit better.

Yeah I love that show too I've watched that episode so many times, along with all the other episodes because they play them so much on Teletoon (and there is only 13 episodes total). But lately I haven't watched it much because I've seen them all so many times..

You actually like Mission Hill? It is more on disgust than humor though it had some funny elements I like the Brak Show and Home Movies. Then again I usually watch the Saturday night adult swim. Watching Cowboy Bebob and Yu-Yu Hakusho something like that. Then again we should be giving up on cartiins and watch the fat guy in glasses more often

I like MISSION HILL a lot.  They should release it on DVD.

Unfortunately I haven't watched Adult Swim in two weeks, since I've been on vacation.  (My job is to watch Adult Swim.)  I'm thinking I should record the marathon thing that's on tonight though.

Oh yeah, that baby is going to be sitting pretty on one of my new 8 hour tapes I got this Christmas. They're showing a few episodes of Aqua Team Hunger Force I haven't seen yet, and even though I'd love to sit down and watch that and only that tonight, I'm meeting with a couple of friends, and we're going "clubbing" around town. I hope it doesn't suck, Adult Swim is mighty tempting.
