I assume many people on this board have read Stephen King, so I'm wondering if anyone has read anything by Bentley Little?  My brother bought me a short story anthology of his, and I'm definitely enjoying it so far.  I'm just wondering how his novelizations are.  I read some reviews on Amazon.com and someone defined him as a "splatterpunk" writer, and I have no idea what that means.  Could someone clear me up on what that means?

I'm not exactly sure what the official definition is, but I know "cyberpunk" is things like The Matrix and Johnny Neumonic, so I've always figured that "splatterpunk" was kind of similar, but with the computers/techology replaced by violence.

For example, I'd imagine that A Clockwork Orange would qualify as a splatterpunk movie.

Splatterpunk is fresh, inventive take on gore. Kindof horror with more attitude. Most critics despise it. Think Poppy Z. Brite, Clive Barker's Books of Blood, stuff like that. Check out Splatterpunks 1 & 2 edited by Paul M. Sammon (published by TOR). I've read #2 and it is amazing. Still looking for #1, it's out of print. I haven't read B. Little, but maybe I will now.
