which movie is stallone doing that you "object" to? Taxi 3 by any chance?

Ash

I totally disagree with you!

Stallone is great!

He's starred in some of the most successful films ever made!

Sure he's had a few misfires here & there (Judge Dredd...Oscar...Get Carter) but overall he ranks right up there in my top 10 favorite actor list.

Trust me, if an actor can make a bunch of movies and make millions and people keep coming back to see him, he obviously has his s**t together and IS GOOD!

It may be your opinion that he's a freak, you're entitled to that.

HERE'S MY OPINION!

You don't know what the hell you're talking about!

He's made more money than you or I will ever see in both of our lifetimes (that has to count for something!) and I think he is a great actor and I hope he comes out with a few more blockbusters!  (just to prove me right)

(next time, if you're gonna rip on a good actor, at least include some serious details you've compiled inside your manic mind about him and why you think he sucks so much.)

Reed Rothchild

Um, he hasn't really made a good film for years. Okay, Rocky 1 and First Blood were superb. Demolition Man and Tango and Cash were good fun, but the rest just got weaker and weaker. Sorry, gotta agree with the others.

And what does making a lot of money have to do with being any good? Plenty of far more talented actors get far less money.

poor poor ASHTHECAT, how can you be so blind.
Stallone must be euthanized.
EVERY movie he's in he needs those "power lines" to make up for his total lack of talent or screen presence.

I thought "Assassins" was one of the better things I've seen either Stallone or Banderas in, as far as acting.

"Assassins" was the only movie (*) I ever fell asleep while in the theatre. In my book this film is the definition of boredom.

cheers

(*) Okay, there WAS "Star Trek V", but that was during a marathon, so I guess it doesn't count...

Neville

Assassins containing the best acting by Stallone and Banderas! What's next, The Rock to play Hamlet? Stallone looked like he was sleepwalking through all the movie, and Banderas was just f**king unbearable.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I thought Copland was excellent....

And I really really love the Rocky I - IV films...Sure, they get more and more cheesy as they go on, but nothing pumps me up more than popping Rocky I or Rocky II in and watching them.

lonecorndog

I agree. I'm not saying, "Wow, what an actor." But he's had more than his fair share of good films. Copland was a great film. Rocky and First Blood were great films. Demolition Man was a blast. While, yes, Assasins and other films of his career have sucked (Banderas is ten times as good in Desparado), other films, even campy or cheesy, at least weren't boring (Rocky 2-4, Rambo 2 & 3, I'll even admit I liked Cliffhanger and Judge Dredd).
Yes, money does not equal talent, for the love of all that's holy, let's make that one clear. But Stallone doesn't annoy me.

Steven Millan

Stallone's new movie "Eye See You" is basically the Italian Stallone's attempt at a "Friday The 13th." movie, with an all-star cast(Tom Berenger,Robert Patrick,Dina Meyer,Kris Kristofferson,Sean Patrick Flannery)all meeting brutally gory deaths(drills[in the eyes],knives, axes, hanging ropes),which made it a lot more better than the recent crud that proudly resumes on Stallone's job resume.
Too bad it didn't get a theatrical release, for I would loved to have seen the critics get knocked out of their seats from all of the shocking on-screen violence(courtesy of Steve Johnson's XFX).

Hamburger Pimp

Come on now people, lets not forget "Cobra"!  They just don't make 'em like that anymore.

The Burgomaster

Stallone is (or at least, CAN be, when he tries) a good actor. He was great in ROCKY, and very good in ASSASSINS, THE LORDS OF FLATBUSH, COPLAND and even the original FIRST BLOOD (except for the end when he is crying and you can't understand a damn word he is saying).

Unfortunately, he sold out and made a ton of CRAP in which he didn't even TRY to act. I cringe when I see him in movies like ROCKY IV, COBRA, JUDGE DREDD, OVER THE TOP, and a lot of the other absolute JUNK that he has appeared in over the years.

I will say this: he will be in a lot more CRAP in the coming years. But I would not be surprised if he makes another good movie or two and even picks up another Oscar nomination before it's all over.

He has some talent . . . he just hardly ever uses it.
