The recent talk about Larry Cohen got me thinking... Here's a guy who's been around for years, pumping out damn solid movies, and has proven himself to be a very interesting person in interviews, yet he doesn't get anywhere near the credit he deserves, even in cult circles. Who are some other people who haven't even got the cult followings they deserve?

Up until Best In Show and the rerelease of Spinal Tap, I'd put Christopher Guest in this category as well. Sure, people knew who he was before that, but he didn't get half the credit he deserved. Listen to the stuff he did with the National Lampoon Radio Hour in the early seventies; this show was the launching pad for John Belushi, Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, Harold Ramis, and Richard Belzer, yet all of them were overshadowed by Guest's amazing improv. Fortunately, in 2000 he finally became more of a household name.
