Just moved up to Toledo from Columbia SC (well, did it last week, but it took a week to recover). Finally found a store with $5 DVDs (the Wal-Marts, etc. by me didn't).
So far I've picked up: Night of the Living Dead/Dementia 13, They Came from beyond Space, First Spaceship on Venus/Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet, and Creature-- starring Klaus Kinski.  Meijer (the store) rocks, though I still can't get used to the idea of vodka being sold along side groceries.

Did SC not sell liquor in their grocery stores? I know for sure NC does since I live here (strolling by the breads..... hey! The wine section!), but I didn't know SC held that kind of rule. I don't know, maybe it's because I don't go grocery shopping in South Carolina all too often. Hope you have fun in Ohio, home to the greatest roller coaster park in the world, Cedar Point!!

Jeez, in SC you practically have to have a note from  your mother to buy booze.  Liquor stores are only open 9 - 7 Monday through Sat.  And since I worked 8 - 5, and had things to do in the evening, about the only time to buy was Saturday afternoon.  Royal pain.  No other state I've lived in (NJ, NY, VA, OR, SC) sold liquor in grocery stores.

Just watched First Spaceship on Venus.  A deliciously bad movie, very bad special effects, the metallic spiders on strings were hilarious.  The color was a bit washed out.  Thing I learned from this movie:  by 1985, the world was transforming inorganic matter into food! (for those without a science background, organic matter is carbon based, inorganic is everything else, essentially it requires using nuclear fission or fusion to convert different elements to carbon!  Sorry, extreme geek mode there.  Still, it makes the Black Queen's decision in Barbarella to feed her people orchids positively cost effective.

Ah well, the sun's out today

Scott, I too live in NC and I hate to tell you, but we don't sell liqour in grocery stores.  We have beer and wine in our Food Lions sure, but no good stuff (I.E. Capt Morgan...yum..).  That's what the ABC Package Stores are for.

I think you are mistaken Scott0, the best roller coaster park is now King's Dominion in Va. Do your hw.

The best roller coaster I've encountered was the Insane-o Brain Buster, but it was one I dreamed about -but gosh I wish you guys could have ridden it with me.

Man, I'm getting beat up in this thread! Alright, there is wine and beer in grocery store, but I guess there might not be your so-called "hard" liquor (rum, tequila, etc...). and yes, CEDAR POINT IS THE BEST! No question, end of story.
