well fellas, a friend and I sat up the other night enjoying the weather, drinking a few beers (among other things) and readying ourselves for a wonderful MST called Invasion of the Neptune Men. It just so happened that ROCKY was showing on another channel (with just 55 minutes to go until MST). And wouldn't you know it??? --- that bastard Stallone knocked me right on out!!!! Once again ROCKY has proven itself to be one terrible , lame, unintelligable load of garbage!!! We missed MST!!!! Slept right through it!!!!! There must be some way that I can sue Stallone and maybe get him kicked out of the country with a BAN on ALL of his films!!!!!!!

Come on. The original ROCKY is an excellent movie. I agree that the sequels stink, but you can't criticize Stallone for the original.

How about this for a Stallone marathon:

* ITALIAN STALLION (or whatever alternate title you choose to use for that crappy "adult" feature he was in before he became famous).

* PARADISE ALLEY

* STOP, OR MY MOM WILL SHOOT

* OVER THE TOP

* JUDGE DREDD

* ROCKY IV (the worst sequel in the series, as far as I'm concerned)

$10 and a large pizza to anyone who can stay awake through this marathon.

Hmmm
I liked Rocky 2 a lot, mainly cuz of Hulk Hogan and Mr. T.
Demolition Man is great too!

By the way Dr. I think that Johnny Blisters is taking your place on my most different tastes in movies list!

Interesting side note: the location scout for Rocky was none other than Troma guru Lloyd Kaufman! I believe he has a cameo as a wino as well. Funny that a movie as mainstream as Rocky should have the involvement of a filmmaker as radically underground as Kaufman.

1. Stallone sucks. He is, in my opinion, the worst damn actor ever. He should have stayed in the porno business where he belonged.
2. I don't know that Mr. Kaufmann is all that underground these days. I mean, he appeared in a Newfound Glory video for Cthulhu's sake. He's a cool guy, sure, but Troma has sadly become "hip retro chic" for people who simply think it's cool to like b-movies without actually knowing or caring anything about them like we do (wow, that sounded cliqueish, didn't it?).
3. I love those Demons of Stupidity song samples, Vermin. Keep up the good work.

True, but, unfortunately, it seems these days that Lloyd's the most underground filmmaker out there to get any sort of distribution (Gad, I wish I was around in the late 70s, when guys like Waters and Lynch were just cranking them out of their garages). Oh, and thanks for the good word on the Demons!
