I was watching "The New Best Friend" t'other day with some friends, and realized why I can sit through, even actually enjoy watching movies like that.  While the production is a little slicker, they're more or less the same damn thing as old Ted Mikels-style exploitation flicks.  Overlap the plotline of "New Best Friend" with...say..."Girl In Gold Boots", and they more or less fit beat for beat.  Nice girl makes some new friends, they corrupt her and she turns out to be just as evil and ruthless as they are.  The whole thing is just an excuse to watch pretty people do drugs and make out and be sleazy.  And while they look shinier, sleazy they still be.  What do you think, sirs?
