I caught a glimpse of MTV's 200 Something Icons and they had Britney Spears as the #1 most memorable icon... What kind of crap is this?

William Shatner was in the 100's, same with Mickey Mouse, etc...  MTV and all it's publicity stunts suck... I especially hate those Snoop Dog skits.

I sometimes wonder what people will remember about us today in a few hundred years.

Did Mozart and DaVinci, of all the stuff that was going on in their time, have a glimpse that hundreds of years alter they would be so well remembered out of all their contemporaries.

Myself, I tend to think that in two hundred years, with the perspective of history, that Rush and maybe Yes will be considered amongst the greatest musical developments of the last generation of the twentieth century.

But it's really hard to tell of all we do today, who and what will be remembered, but then, when Alexander the Great lamented of no more lands to conquer, did he pause to reflect that thousands of years later, people would still be talking about him?  Will people still be talking about Hitler in a thousand years?
