I'm sure you've all noticed the funny names given to money in sci-fi films.

Star Wars had Republic Credits or "Daqtari's". (isn't that what Qui-Gon-Jin called them when he was chatting with Watto in Episode 1?)

In "Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone",  money was called "megacredits".

And best of all...in "Spaceballs" they were called simply enough...."spacebucks"!

Lone Starr to Barf....."We're not doing it for the money....we're doing it for a s**tLOAD of money!"

Haha!

What are some other funny names given to currency in other films that you can think of?

BlackAngel

In the tv show Hercules and Xena, I've always heard money reffered to as denards.

Actually I think it was "dinars" which is the official currency of Iraq if I'm not mistaken.

Nathan Shumate

...they had "cubits," which of course get their name from the Biblical unit of measure.

The Burgomaster

In SOYLENT GREEN, they referred to money as "Ds," which I assume is an abbreviation for "dollars."

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."
