I hate to admit it but I used to enjoy the 3D features they would have, where you buy those special glasses and adjust your tv set and sit and go blind seeing red and blue for the next 2 hours.

The Burgomaster

When I was a kid back in the 1970s, we used to have CREATURE FEATURE and TALES OF THE UNKNOWN here in the Boston area. Some of my favorites were:

* WAR OF THE GARGANTUAS
* FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLFMAN
* THEM
* CURSE OF THE SWAMP CREATURE
* MONSTER FROM THE SURF
* THE BEGINNING OF THE END
* MONSTER ZERO
* INVASION OF THE STAR CREATURES
* ATTACK OF THE MUSHROOM PEOPLE

Ahhhhh . . . memories . . .

Back in the early 80s, City TV, out of Toronto, used to have Not So Great Movies (their prime-time movie show was Great Movies). On Sunday afternoons, and late at night for a while, they'd run stuff like King Kong vs. Godzilla, Plan 9 from Outer Space, Creeping Terror, Hercules in New York and other such gems. They did a pretty good job of promoting some of these in advance. When they showed Plan 9, they ran spots promoting it as the worst movie ever made. Hercules was shown when The Terminator was cleaning up at the box office. City actually did a pretty good job of promoting the whole "so bad it's good" idea.

ATTACK OF THE MUSHROOM PEOPLE sounds great. I wonder if I ever seen it.

MONSTER FROM THE SURF is going to be playing during AMC's MONSTERFEST around Halloween. It will be playing once somewhere between 12am and 6am.

That is the name of it WAR OF THE GARGANTUAS. Really liked that one.
