THE SHE BEAST (1966) - Barbara Steele stars in this film about some kind of Vampire Witch. The film starts out with a flash back to an earlier time when they show this Witch with fangs being placed into a dunking chair that looks like a catapult. The face of this witch is gross but the film is meant to be a bit comical in it's feel. They have it set to modern times in Transylvania which was now a Eastern Block state of Communism and the authorities in their army garb chase a couple englishmen as if they were keystone cops or something and the inn keeper is a peeking tom. The two men are trying to save a women played by Steele. The other older guy is a Van Helsing decendant wearing knee high socks and running around from one scene or another, kinda entertaining. Not a bad film and not a great film.

Barbara Steele films are good in general, but not great. Here are the ones that I've seen.

Black Sunday (probably her best part)
Pit and the Pendulum (Roger Corman film)
8 1/2 (When I seen this I didn't see or know she was in it)
The She Beast (Campy)
The Crimson Cult (Not bad)
Shivers (great film, an older Barbara Steele has a role in the film.)

I'd like to see THE HORRIBLE DOCTOR HICHCOCK and CAGED HEAT. Steele stars in these also

Hey Scott, you ever go over to the bmonster.com? They have all kinds of  info and interviews with folks from all the old 50's and 60's B flicks.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Scott

Yep, Astounding B Monster website is one of the first B-Movie sites I ever visited. Nice page.

They had a nice documentary on TCM at 7pm tonight called HIDDEN VALUES. It was about films in the 50's. They focused on these films:

THE WILD ONE
REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE
THE THING FROM ANOTHER WOLRD
GIANT

Good documentary if you can catch it.
