Well, I am back from Christmas vacation and I have two reviews:

Underworld:  Predictable movie with cheesey Matrix-ripoff fight scenes and werewolves that look just as bad as the ones in American Werewolf in Paris.  It features hordes of vampires and werewolves but does not produce one scarey moment.  Lots of bullets fly from guns - so many that you often see people fire more rounds in a scene than they would have been able to physically lift and carry into the battle.  They go slo-mo when they shouldn't, the editing is choppy, and the plot twists are as surprising as that christmas present shaped like a clothes box.  And on a final note, Kate Beckinsale is on screen for about 90% of the movie and spends the entire time in a skin-tight black latex jump suit.  Five stars out of five - highly recommended.

SWAT:  In this movie, a SWAT team is assigned to transfer a criminal who has offered $100million to anyone who helps him escape.  We then see one of the SWAT team guys eating at an expensive restaurant with a high-maintenance surgically-enhanced beauty.  As he orders a $100 bottle of wine he utters the line "I may work in the mud, but I like to play in the clouds."  By the time I recovered consciousness from this sledge-hammer-to-the-head bit of foreshadowig, the movie was over and my wife was taking the kids to bed.  So I really can't rate the movie, but I recommend you duck when you see the SWAT team guy in the restaurant.

I rented Underworld last night.  Haven't seen it yet, but hopefully I'll get a chance to tonight.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

I did like "Underworld". It took some care to depict both werewolves and vampires and the pace was slower than in some other similar movies (the first "Blade" and its choppy MTV visuals in mind). I didn't like "SWAT". It had some decent action at the beginning, but characters and plot are so dull I disconnected after the first 15 minutes.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

She does look good in that outfit !

I can't wait to rent the dvd this weekend !Eirik wrote:
