Here's one for the "You gotta be kiddin me" file.   First of all, the picture quality is so bad  I thought the opening scene was a flashback.  no such luck.  This is a day late many dollars short disaster film.  I thuoght I was going to see tigers racing around an African village chasing westerners up trees.  Again, no such luck.   As usual with  these types of pictures  they have  two plots: one being the disaster part and the other being the "background" , in this case the tawdry goings on in a small town.  Some bigwig is shagging some waitress. she 's a former runaway who goes to work with no pants on so she can make more tips.   We see all the important people in the community are hypocrites blah blah blah.  Whenever they get tired of that stuff they cut over to what could easily be stock footage of tigers roaming around.  Like "Jaws"  the bigwigs don't want to scare away the tourists, here it's a campground, so they don't heed the warnings that tigers are around.

By chance there is an internationally famous tiger hunter who lives in the town.  seriously.  It stars Tom Skerrit.

The title is misleading but factually correct: there are in fact 2 maneaters, just enough for the plural in "maneaters are loose".

Captain Tars Tarkas

This is a TV movie that was released along with Shark Kill from Wild Eye: http://www.wildeyereleasing.com/

Shark Kill has a similar horrible print, but I haven't seen Maneaters so I didn't know if its print was tore up.
