HERCULES UNCHAINED (1959) This is a great Italian/French production with great sets and a cast of hundreds. Steve Reeves bodybuilder of the era stars as Hercules and plays the character well.

Primo Carnera boxing great has a good scene as a giant who charges a fee at a mountain pass. Here he fights Hercules after they approach in a wagon. Great stuff. Carnera keeps getting back up after Hercules puts him down.

Sylvia Koscina and Sylvia Lopez play the leading females who are both involved with Hercules. On an Island Hercules drinks from a fountain and he looses his memory of who he is and about his pass until a friend helps.

Good battle scenes. You can see were EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and LORD OF THE RINGS got some of those ideas from to take down those giant creatures with rope around the legs as Hercules uses rope against some tall mobile seige platforms and pulls them down.

I've seen JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS, but this is my first viewing of a Hercules film. Great stuff. Highly recommended.

Though there were a whole series of Hercules and other strongmen films through the late '50s and into the '60s, I haven't seen that many of them. Except, this one and the first one in the series. And this is one time, where the sequel might be better then the first one.

Another one to look for, though I have not seen it, is "Hercules in the Haunted Wor.ld" w/ Christopher Lee, I believe, as a vampire named King Lico or Licos.

I've also seen images of HERCULES IN THE HAUNTED WORLD and would like to see it.

Again I really enjoyed HERCULES UNCHAINED. The whole film worked for me.
