Who is your favorite rapper turned actor?

Mine would have to be Ice T.

He's great in Law & Order and has also done some B-films as well! (Stealth Fighter)

Plus back in the day I used to listen to his music alot.
Who could forget "Cop Killer".

I guess you could include rapperesses/actresses in this category but the selection would be very limited.

Whose yours and why?

Ice Cube has done some good work [Three Kings and, arguably, the Friday series] But I've seen trailers for his movie 'Torque' which look pretty bad.

I love Mark Whalberg, though most of his films are pretty shoddy.  The Corrupter and the Big Hit are two personal favourites of mine.  Two great films.

Ice-T and Ice-Cube are the best of the rappers turned actors, they also are some of the few rappers I can actually listen to.
DMX I hate.He is a f**king terrible one dimensonal actor. He couldn't play any kind of dramatic role to save his life. All of his movies are mindless action and not even good mindless action.

Smells like popcorn and shame

Master P is distractingly bad in his cheapo self-produced flick and legit movies (Undisputed and Dark Blue). He's even worse on that stupid Nick show with his son Lil' Bow Wow. You are a truly bad actor when you are too wooden to play yourself.

Busta Rhymes was decent as a street druggie in "Narc". Haven't seen seen his other flicks to compare.

Queen Latifah has made a good transition to acting as her rap career faded and her lousy talk show disappeared.

Who can forget LL Cool J in "Deep Blue Sea", giving his perfect omlette recipe?

He's not a rapper(but he is good with rhymes). See Muhammad Ali in "The Greatest".  Next to The Mick(I'm an Okie), he's my favorite sports figure of all time, truly is The Greatest, just not the greatest actor.

Everyone has potentially fatal flaws, but yours involve a love of soldiers' wives, an insatiable thirst for whiskey, and the seven weak points in your left ventricle.

I like LL Cool J best because he's the only rapper-turned-actor who doesn't take himself seriously.  Anything Ice T or Ice Cube or DMX is in and they have to be the biggest, toughest, badass in the picture.  LL Cool J isn't afraid to do comic relief or non-violent roles (Toys), even though he'd probably whup T and Cube's paunchy asses up and down the street.  He's the only one who's shown any range.

Actually, the verdict is out on Eminem.  If it turns out that that whole "battle rap" concept from 8 Miles was supposed to be a joke (which I suspect), then he'd be the second rapper who doesn't take himself too seriously.

Now, that was painful. I was hoping throughout the film that he would get eaten, but he kept on coming back. Probably the scriptwriter made a bet that he could come up with a cook that was even more annoying than Neelix

The Burgomaster

I have a problem admiring anyone whose name has "ice" in it.

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

FearlessFreep

Arguably, he was far less annoying the most of the rest of the cast

Velvet Brotha

Definitely Will Smith... I really like the guy.
