I'm sure a thread like this has been done before but it must've been awhile ago.  Any choices?  I've been getting into biker films a bit lately (they're hilarious with no point usually) here's a few of my favorites:

The Wild Angels (this one started the whole 60s biker craze- Davie Allan and the Arrows fuzz music rules too- wating for the reissues of the albums to come out-cycledelic!)

Psychomania (black comedy- always liked this one, weird)

The Glory Stompers (more stupidity but it's watchable)

The Cycle Savages (really stupid movie indeed- Bruce Dern looks like Loser from the Wild Angels again, groovy fuzz theme music again like Davie Allan)

anyone who could recommend anything else out on dvd (perferably 60's ones?)  I could never get into easy rider at all, just too lame for me.  I want to see biker gangs- not two hippie dudes riding around stoned.  The soundtrack has some good stuff though.  So I guess I'm looking for biker gang movies.

I quite like The Wild Rebels.  I just bought but haven't watched yet Angel's Wild Women, and Satan's Sadists is on my list.
Sidehackers, on the other hand, makes me want to kill myself even WITH Joel and the 'bots.

The Wild One-  Not 60's, but still, the original biker flick, somewhat sanitized but still hella cool. Did I say "hella"? That's right, I did...yep, my life is permanently fixed in 1985!

The Wild Angels-  Already mentioned, but my favorite biker flick. Best Mission Statement Ever: "We want to be free to do what we want to do, we want to be free to ride our machines without getting hassled by the man, and we want to get LOADED!!" f**king idealism, that!

Hells Angels On Wheels- Oh yeah, it's crap....but it's got all the Nicholson goodness, with none of the Hopper/Fonda banality!

Born Losers- So the bikers in this film are lame as hell, but....two words MOTHERHUMPIN' BILLY JACK!!!! Added bonus: Jane Russell, way past her prime, so old she's shiny!

Eye Of The Tiger- Not 60's, not even really a biker flick, in the sense that it is solely focused on a motorcycle club. But, two words...MOTHERHUMPIN' GARY BUSEY!!!! Busey as burned out Vietnam vet/ex-con, who with the help of other burned out vets, and a drug dealer(!) rid his hometown of evil biker gang!!! So we have..Busey...Post-traumatic Stress...Drugs....Evil Bikers!!!! Can't miss entertainment!!!

I absolutely agree that Easy Rider is pretentious hippy crap. Although, I'd say we were entitled to more films in which Peter Fonda gets shot by rednecks!

Everyone has potentially fatal flaws, but yours involve a love of soldiers' wives, an insatiable thirst for whiskey, and the seven weak points in your left ventricle.

Now that you mention it, I can think of a whole lot of movies that would have been improved by that happening right at about the 10 minute mark.

You wouldn't be thinking of Futureworld or Wanda Nevada....would you? Actually, of the 2nd and 3rd Generation of Fondas, Peter is my favorite. He's been in some pretty crap films, but you get the sense that he means well.

And as for his "radical" 60's politics, I get the feeling he reached his political view the same way I reach mine, basically, whatever pops into your head while you're drunk. And he was pretty cool in Escape From LA and The Limey, both characters being basically send-ups of his personal image. And, he was the inspiration for a Beatles song(She said, She said) so, that's pretty cool.

My favorite biker film will always be 1967's "The Savage Seven." Come on, it has Robert Walker Jr. (as a blue-eyed Native American!) and biker fave Adam Roarke going at it and then later teaming up against some corrupt townies. And the soundtrack is awesome; lots of Cream and other psychedelic bands. A DVD of this is sorely needed! I also am a big fan of "The Losers," the one about the cycle gang in the jungles of Vietnam...the one with the guy with a rocket launcher attached to his chopper!

I was thinking about this movie when I was reading this post and didn't remember the name of it. I believe it starred William Smith.  Saw it at the drive-in when I was a young 'un.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

No one's mentioned "Biker Chicks in Zombie Town"??

I kinda liked "Beyond the Law" (1992) (yes, I know, Charlie Sheen).  It was a pretty good movie made better (imo) by the fact that it was a true story.  The guy that played the biker 'friend' of Charlie Sheen's character grew up in the town where I used to live (I forgot about this one on that old thread a while back  .... ).

"Mad Max" and "Road Warrior" are kinda like 'biker' movies...sorta...and fun to watch in the right mood.

Hardcore bikers?  How about "CC and Company" (1970)?  Joe Namoth as a biker.  THAT'S actin', baby.

Finally, what mention of 'biker movie' can leave out "Megaforce"??  Flying motorcycles?  The ULTIMATE 'bikers.'    Er, hum.  (I actually HAVE this movie on VHS....can you believe that?)

(btw, I have seen some real movies in the 'biker' genre, I just don't recall the names...probably several already mentioned in the thread, tho).

Ulthar, I'm surprised you were the first one to bring up Megaforce. If that's what the biker gangs of the future are gonna be riding then we are very screwed. :)

I want to put CC RIDER and BEYOND THE LAW on my list of films to view.

Don't forget QUADRAPHENIA starring a pre-Police Sting. Though not your average biker movie. They do ride around alot on the English motorbikes.

THE WILD ONE, PSYCHOMANIA, and WILD ANGELS are my current favorite biker films. I'll also throw in EASY RIDER.

HELLS ANGELS ON WHEELS isn't bad either and I always remembered the black and white silouette ending of this film.

CHOPPER CHICKS FROM ZOMBIE TOWN is the worst and I couldn't even finish it.

SHE DEVILS ON WHEELS is interesting only because of the time period and color of the film, but other than that a poor film.

BORN LOSERS is also ok. It's Billy Jack against a gang of bikers.

HELLS ANGELS FOREVER is good for about 30 minutes, but gets boring after that. It's a documentary about the real biker gang and their history.
