The def of All Nighters

What is an all nighter. Is it you study so much that you get less than 8 hours of sleep? If that is so then I must do that alot. Tell about tales in school(any year) when you put away hygene for study time. I did that for a week! Ugh!!! I think i'm sick!

Well I would think that an all nighter would last all night.

However any study/work season that starts before 9 and goes to after 2:30 would be close enough in my book.

This is not directed at you but note, if you keep up with stuff ahead of time and actually read stuff before classes, all nighters are seldom needed.

I was always surprised at the number of people that had problems in school.

It was always disappointing when you would tell people the answer to a question that was going to be on the test the day before and still have 30% of the people have no clue.  Although I did give partial credit to the guy who would write lymrics and hiku when he had no idea.

I, uh, didn't study. As a result, I'm a public servant...YAY tax dollars!

Usually my definition of an all nighter is when you can hear the birds chirping outside and you still haven't woken up.  Though anytime after 4 is still pretty bad.

I and many of my friends have pulled many an all nighter.

I don't really have an excuse though, Bgrade is right, if you actually knuckle down and get your work done early then there's no real need to do it.  But i'm a lazy bastard who never does that.  I could have all my work done for uni in the next few days and hand it all in 3 weeks early, but i, and many others like me, won't do that.

A friend of mine operates on about 3 hours sleep a day.  That's because the workload they give him in his course [he does landscape architecture] and the hazards of his social life condemn him to insomnia, not that he really minds.

Gecko, what were you doing that caused such a spate of all-nighters?

For a horrible moment I thought this message string was about that crappy 80's movie "The All Nighter" that had one of the woman from the cheese rock group The Bangles. But I was wrong, thank the maker. Anyone in the creative fields of art, design and film etc will know exactly what a real ALL NIGHTER feels like. A 24 hour marthon at a fever pitch. It has nothing to do with improper planning and has everything to do with making miracles happen on time set up by some demanding & demented SOB. Luckily I don't have many of those anymore.

An all nighter means being up until the sun breaks.  I never pulled an all-nighter in school; well, at least not studying.

Yep I study that hard to keep high grades. just so I can be on principal lists.

That plus the fact that the school I go to has a different type of curriculum. In it you work at your own pace by yourself. That means if your work hard you go far. I managed to work so hard that I am a grade ahead in most of my subjects. I work with these little magazine until I complete the booklet. I turned it in. The next day I test. I use to have test every day of the weak. Plus some of the subject on the test are really long and difficult. I had to take a test about the all the poetry books of the Bible so I read Job all the way to Ecclesiastes and that was just for poetry! Then there is science I borrow a video from the school and watch two or three times. I have geography which I am not great in so spend a night memorizing all these minute and trivial facts on Canada. Then I have Math and English which I am actually good at. My mom is p**sed at me for staying up so late, but she will be p**sed at me for not doing "enough study in my life"(that means one day when I sit back and watch movies.
