FIVE GUNS WEST (1955) - Western directed by Roger Corman. It's a B-Western for sure, but it keeps your interest to a small degree.  Five confederates prisoners are pardonned to stop a gold shipment. They all get kinda greedy as they reach their destination. Not a bad little film. FLIX MOVIE CHANNEL showed this one today. First movie directed by Corman..

Haven't seen it Scott, will look for it. I recently watched Corman's THE INTRUDER. It was his only "message" picture, and the only film he lost money on. William(The Blinding Light of the Holy Glowing Form of the One Toupeed and Gloriously Bloated) Shatner, stars as an agent for The Patrick Henry Society who travels throughout the South inciting racial unrest.

His role in this film heavily forshadows his future role as Capt. Kirk. He travels to primitive, backward society, Gives many, many long winded speeches, tries to change there way of life, then bangs all the chicks.

Still, not a bad flick, pretty daring for the early 60's, and despite the fact that there are only a few professionals in the cast, the acting is pretty fair. Well worth the viewing, if only to see Shatner in a pair of Yoko Ono glasses!!

PS. Must give credit to the First Church Of Shatnerology, for the above description of the UberShatner...please don't sue!!

Everyone has potentially fatal flaws, but yours involve a love of soldiers' wives, an insatiable thirst for whiskey, and the seven weak points in your left ventricle.

I may have saw THE INTRUDER  a long time ago, but not sure.  It may be the title of a film I've been wanting to see again that had strong racial tension in a Southern town.

FIVE GUNS WEST is an ok film, but I wouldn't run out to buy it or anything. It's neat piece because it was directed by Roger Corman.

Hey Deej, have you ever seen The Incubus? The whole movie is spoken in Esperanto. Shatner does a good job in this one, especially since he had to learn a language for it . I believe it was made right before he made the pilot for Star Trek.

It was written and directed by Leslie Stevens, who made the original Outer Limits series.

Succubus Kia tries to seduce and corrupt  pure of heart  wounded war hero Marc(Shatner) but instead falls for him.

This movie disappeared not long after it was made in 1965 and SciFi channel helped to restore it.  They showed it a couple of years ago late on Saturday night.

Here's a fan page for the film Incubus

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Thanks for that link Trek_Geezer. Looks like a great film. I always pasted by this film thinking INCUBUS was the Ernest Borgnine film set in Amish country.  I've been mistaking INCUBUS with DEADLY BLESSING which I didn't care for. I'll add INCUBUS to my list of films to view.

Being a Shatner disciple, I've heard of the film, but I've yet to see it. I guess I'm a crappy disciple! I definitely have to find it. Was it made before or after Star Trek? I know the UberShatner made a good deal of craptastic films following his life-affirming run as Capt. Kirk. Thanks for reminding me about Incubus, Trek....now I'll have to track it down.
