If you like horror movies keep reading. I have a friend who thinks he's a good writer and he wrote a screnplay for a horror movie. I think it's not bad, the characters suck, but the story is good and leaves a good impresion. I would like to hear opinions from many people, (he doesn't know i'm doing this, i used his name) is there hope for this guy or he should kill him self. The script is online over there behind that corner.

This might be interesting...

I'll give it a read as soon as I get home.

The Burgomaster

I read the first few pages.  Overall, it seems to be no better or worse than most I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER type movies.  I think that the writing style should be cleaned up a bit.  There are too many distracting parentheticals describing people's facial expressions and the way they deliver their lines.  They slow down the reading pace, plus, the director would probably ignore them anyway.  Also, some of the text like "Love is in the air.  And so are the hormones." is a bit hokey.  Most screenwriting classes that I have taken, and books that I have read, suggest that you avoid writing anything that cannot be shown on the screen.  I think that "hormones in the air" falls into this category.

Other than that, it appears to be a decent first effort (as far as I have read).  I will probably read the whole thing when I have a chance.  I'm most impressed by the fact that he finished it.  I usually write 10-20 pages and then scrap the idea and move on to something else.  I can only DREAM about finishing a screenplay!

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Brother Ragnarok

As Burgo already mentioned, the directorial stuff like facial expressions needs to be dropped.  The scriptwriter's job is to tell the director what to put on the screen, but not how to put it there.  Give the descriptions of the settings, the characters, and the dialogue.  Generally, directors will ignore or maybe even p**sed off by the screenwriter telling him how to shoot the movie.

very true Ragnarok. unless in certain situations that is acceptable, like if the director of the film is writing the screenplay himself he may make little notes about how he wants a scene to be. for example i read a little bit of the Platoon screenplay and there are little scenes here and there where Oliver Stone wrote things like "Cut to: the rain hitting the sergeants boots."
