I just watched a nice heaping helping of "King Kong Lives". I'm sure everyone who's seen this one remembers that TERRIBLE effect of Kong eatting a hunter, which thus gave me an idea for another topic. Mine are....

#1: Kong Eatting Hunter from "King Kong Lives". AW GEEZ! How horrible! This is one of those effects that is bad bad! Not the "this is bad this is kinda funny" bad (my opinion).

#2: Reptilicus eatting farmer from "Riptilicus" OH HO! Now this is quite terrible! A snake puppet eatting a cardboard cut-out man. I'm filing this one under "So crappy looking, it amuses me."

How's about YOUR opinions on "Worst Eatting Effect"

I think there's already a Creeping Terror thread.

Yaddo42

The monster in "Children of the Corn III" eating the young black woman. Oh sorry, the monster in that film eating a very fake doll dressed like the young woman in the intercut weak monster POV shots as she approaches the monster's mouth.

But Dave is right, it is hard to beat a monster so cheap and pathetic that the victims are basically crawling into its "mouth". Looked more like a bunch of overgrown kids playing make believe and crawling through a tunnel they made themselves.

Which dave? Oh you put a capital "D" on it (Never mind!) I heard the Creeping Terror was a terrible one but I havn't seen that one formyself so I have to add a different one for the 3rd effect
.

#3: Monster thing that eats Jade. The CGI monster looked terible and the eatting part looked terrible also. Goes under the "Ha Ha HA!" section. Enough said.

Reptilicus and Creeping Terror are definitely the worst. The bird in The Giant Claw was also pretty bad, mowing down on skydivers and such.

The one that immediately jumped to mind for me, however, is Jane Badler swallowing a guinea pig in V. This was the gross-out effect everybody was talking about at the time. Seeing it again, years later, all I saw was a woman turn into a mannequin head with an unhinging jaw.

How could I forget War of the Gargantuas? Picking up a doll, chewing loudly and spitting out shredded doll clothing. Very funny, and yet disturbing for breaking the unwritten rule that Kaiju do not eat people, and generally don't single out individuals.

Flangepart

Which is, after all, the most scary part of Kaiju!
"Its after me, it wants to eat me, and there is squat i can do about it!"
The Giant Claw...Yee hee hee! Bet that bird was farting hot air and pooping pork after eating that plane load of buricrats!
And you think its bad when a robin craps on your windshield!.....

"Aggressivlly eccentric, and proud of it!"

IguanaGirl

Im sure Ive seen worse, but the one that comes to mind is the scene at the end of Blood Diner, where the these people are supposed to be eating boiled human organs from a pot full of blood... and it looks like they are chewing on lumps of rubber in brown water. It was terrible... you never even see anyone really swallow anything and the lumps look nothing like real organs.

Fry: "Im having one of those things. You know, a headache, with pictures!"

Ash

The worst eating effect I can think of is in "Army Of Darkness" when the miniature Ash swan dives into the real Ash's mouth.

That was one of the worst blue screen effects of the entire series!

I give "Blood Diner" a pass, Iguana Girl, since it was so over-the-top and blatantly cheap, that I figure everything was tongue-in-cheek anyway. But YMMV. I mean in a movie like this that had a very fake glue on gapping mouth in the middle of s**tar's (Sheetar?) stomach, and that batter fried a girl's head before knocking it off, I'm just not looking for believeable special effects.
