Fist of Legend with Jet Li should serve you well.  As should most of Bruce Lee's work.

Then I want my money back form my classes, that's the only reason I was taking TaeKwanDo

Actually, I'm currently watching Gary Daniels' Deadly Target  It's a pretty stupid movie, plot wise, but I like the fights as I can regognize a lot of the moves.  No wire work, and "Barney Miller" fans will recognizeMax Gail ("Wojo") as the police captain

Hopefully not.

Not fly? Why else would they call him Jet Li? heh heh heh......

Anything by Bruce Lee.  The Chinese Connection is my favorite, but you can't really go wrong with any of them.

check out the street fighter with sonny chiba, no wire work and very good flick

Are you looking for strictly "martial arts" movies or would samurai films count in a broader definition?

Ed

I personally like Bruce Lee's work, I am very partial to the tower, probably due to a certain NBA star.  I also have a fondness for Jim Kelley, I like the way he moves. I also would like to thank you for this post... I really dislike "Wire Fu" in my martial arts movies, ESPECIALLY that moves where the hero (usually) flies through the air on their back, bicycling and making about a thousand kicks to the face of their opponent.  I want to see realistic martial arts, not wire and CGI silliness!

Samurai films might work, but mainly I was looking for a film where the fighting was done without weapons. I could possibly get into some sword fighting, but I'm definitely not looking for a shoot-em-up action flick.

And I don't want the fighting to be unbelievable, like "Crouching Tiger", or goofy like a lot of Jackie Chan films are. The less flying and one-liners, the better.

Blood Sport???

It's martial arts AND its a Bad (in the good sense) Movie!

I agree with wire fu too.  It's idiotic on the same level that American action movies where the hero is under constant automatic weapons fire and never gets hit is idiotic.  I was laughing my ass off when I saw Crouching Tiger in the theater.  I thought is was the most visually stunning waste of seven bucks I've ever sat through.

But if it was real, imagine how unstoppable the Chinese Olympics basketball teams would be!
