Nuclear weapons debate

This is almost as bad as North Korea possibly exploding a nuclear bomb in its country. Only this time, it might happen here in America. There are debates going on in the senate which are trying to reinstate funds to develop nuclear weapons for a tactical purpose. If you don't know what that means, just think 'small nuclear bombs to replace conventional bombs.' THIS IS DISASTROUS. All this is being pushed by the Bush administration, and opposed by about everyone else. A bipartisan attempt to block this has been formed because even republicans know that nuclear weapons are a BAD thing.

I quote Rep. David Hobson (R-Ohio) "What worries me most about the robust [nuclear earth] penetrator (or nuclear bunker bomb), is that some idiot might try to use it."

Why would anyone want to restart the nuclear arms race, let alone a president who has already broken one of the first rules of the American government to never pre-emptive attack any country, and then give it more nuclear weapons that are justified only by the claim they are short range, have less fallout, and are meant for battlefield environments. I can't believe they actually believe their own words!!! ANY NUCLEAR FALL OUT IS HORRENDOUS! Instead of one big bomb, they want to set off a lot of little bombs?? We're planning on poisoning our earth with radiation, and for what? To kill a few people? Do what you can to put a stop to this. This is bigger than anything I've seen or heard about since Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and it must not pass. If Iraq wasn't reason enough to detest what president Bush has done to f**k things up, please don't give him another four years to bring nuclear weapoins into the mix, or worse. For the safety of the world, don't elect this man again this November.

Some helpful advice:

You might want to put 'OT' before the title of your thread to let everyone know that it is "Off Topic".

Also, you might want to issue a plea to all  here that you don't want to start a flame war or have one ignite.

Political propaganda threads usually don't go over to well here on this particular board.
Lots of fires can get started quite easily and they can sometimes be hard to put out.

Trust me....I know. (wink)
