Oh man, if this ain't a B-movie I don't know what is!  I watched it last night at like 3am.  It's about A-bomb survivers that are hunted down by telepathic cannibal mutants.  The make-up job just the most laughable thing you could imagine...but not the worst part of the movie by far.  I think for me, the worst part was the two "heros" were reminiscent of Ward and Wally Cleaver.   I was ready to hear, "Well, gee dad, it's probably best that we let the beave ride out this mutation thing so that we can figure out what makes them tic."

I have to say I did have a good laugh though, but unfortunately I fell asleep before the ending.

This movie, IN THE YEAR 2889, was directed by the notorious "bad movie" director Larry Buchanan, who also brought us MARS NEEDS WOMEN.  I have never seen it, but you can bet that I'll buy it as soon as it comes out on DVD.

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Actually, this one is already available in a set called "Time-Travelers 4-movie Set." Deep Discount DVD has it for $6.

Derf:

You're right!  In fact, I did some research and this movie is also available on two OTHER DVDs:

1.  On a double feature with Larry Buchanan's IT'S ALIVE (not to be confused with the Larry Cohen movie of the same name).

2.  On a double feature with THEY CAME FROM BEYOND SPACE.

What do I do now?

While the "Time Travelers" set is cheap, I can't say I highly recommend any of the movies in it. A couple are entertaining, including some really cheesy stop-action animation in "The Day Time Ended." It's worth $6 only because you couldn't rent 4 movies for that. I'm not familiar with "It's Alive" or "They Came from Beyond Space," so I'm not sure if either of those would be a better purchase than the "Time Travelers" set.
