This seems like the community that might be able to help.  I am trying to track down a movie from the early 80's.  I was young at the time and it scared the jeepers out of me.  I don't remember much, but here is what I do remember:

It was about a town built on old mines.  These old mines ran from house to house.  In the mines were these creatures that attacked the townspeople.  One particular attack was a creature hid under a car and attacked someone as they walked by.

Sorry, that's all I can remember.  I also think it was called "The Boogans".  However a search of that title brought up nothing.

Anyone remember this gem?

Also anyone know where to get a copy of "Gates of Hell"?  The movie where people vomit up their own guts when they see satan?

Love this site.  Grew up watching a lot of these screen gems.  Was thrilled when I found Humanoids from the Deep on DVD at the local store.

Thanks in advance,

-dave

Watch out for the CHUD

Yep, it was "The Boogens."  I think it was really hard to find on video for several years and became sought-after.  I remember seeing it on cable not long after it came out, but don't remember much else about it other than that it fit your description.

"Gates of Hell" is available on DVD under the title "City of the Living Dead," a translation of its original Italian title.  I miss the old big box VHS though.

Ash

It certainly is The Boogens.

I own this movie on VHS.
To my knowledge it has never been released on DVD yet.

I got my copy through Blockbuster video.
I had to special order it through them.
If they still carry it, go into your local store and ask to order it...they can do it for you right there at the counter.

Well with the 'town with mines under it' I was thinking "Paint Your Wagon"

Thanks everyone.

Wow I couldn't believe I remembered the name of the movie with only one spelling error.  LOL  I hadn't thought of it since I saw it back in the early 80's until Saturday night when we were discussing 80's horror flicks around the campfire.

I'll have to hunt the VHS copy down.  That and the classic Blood Beach.

Thanks again!
