Things have apparently changed over the years, or perhaps it is the different school systems. I remember when a teacher got in a heap of trouble for showing Pink Floyds' The Wall. Of course it was an 'R' rated film; it came out before 'PG-13' was instituted. Does anybody suppose if it were released today that it would be a 'PG-13' film and okay to show in high school?--Bob

Probably not... As much as I love Pink floyd, I'm sure that some A-hole scholar would have a problem with it.

The Wall is a "true" depiction of society and all it's disfunctional grace. ; )

Certainly in high school we had socially conscious reading material. 'Animal Farm', though an expansion of Orwell's own short story paralleling buracracy and a class society, was essentially dynastic in its treatment. 'Brave New World' and '1984' were presented in a classroom context of supposition. For some, Pink Floyd's The Wall was too much like looking into a mirror. And for some, throwing something over that mirror is easier than dealing with it. Perhaps with Pink Floyds The Wall, even if it were rated lower, they just don't want to deal with it.

This is very true... No one wants to face reality. Which is why fantasy is such a fantastic getaway from the real world.

I love Sci-fi, Horror, Action, and pretty much anything that I find entertaining on some level. However, I am a huge fan of films that are trying to teach you something or make an impact rather than mindless, senseless violence.
